Yeast β-Glucan
Yeast β-Glucan is obtained from brewer’s yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) through processes including cell wall disruption, enzymatic hydrolysis, acid and alkali treatment, separation, purification, and spray drying. It can be used as a food ingredient and functional additive.
Yeast β-Glucan is a three-dimensional helical polysaccharide with β-1,3-glucan as the main chain and a small amount of β-1,6-glucan branches. Studies indicate that yeast β-glucan may support immune system balance, help reduce oxidative stress, support normal cellular defense mechanisms, assist in maintaining healthy lipid levels, and contribute to gut health.
